Dry processing of clays is one of POITTEMILL-FORPLEX specialities. It offers multiple advantages compared with wet processing. Dry processing improves homogeneity of the fired body, which generates a strong increase in the mechanical resistance of tiles and bricks (making it possible to reduce product thickness and achieve significant savings of raw materials) as well as better resistance to frost. |

In addition, additives are better mixed and impurities are fully eliminated: the esthaetic quality of the product (“baby skin”) improves significantly. Furthermore, the energy savings achieved during the firing process more than make up for the energy costs related to the drying process. |
